Mother’s Day is our special day to say thank you to our Mother.
We have been celebrating Mother’s Day around the world for ages now. This day is celebrated by showing appreciation for the wonderful memories, thoughtful guidance, support, encouragement, patience & love our mother’s gave to us.
Our mums were always there for us in happy times but also in times of sickness & then later, in the times when we were mums ourselves when they then, gently guided & showed us how to look after, to love & to enjoy our own little ones.
You have given us so much inspiration & endless unselfish love, we just dedicate this special day to you as you are such a special person in our lives.
The modern American holiday of Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. Her campaign to make “Mother’s Day” a recognized holiday in the United States began in 1905, the year her beloved mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, died. Anna’s mission was to honor her own mother by continuing work she started and to set aside a day to honor mothers, “the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world”. Anna’s mother, Ann Jarvis, was a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the Civil War and created Mother’s Day Work Clubs to address public health issues.
